About Lynda Kronzer Dance Studio

A Northwoods Community Staple

Lynda Kronzer Dance Studio opened its doors in Minocqua in 1987. That’s over 38 years of building community through tap in the Northwoods!

We celebrate tap as both an art form and as a source of safety and nurturing. Over the past few decades, dancers of all ages and backgrounds have come together here not to just learn steps — but to create, grow, and have fun!

In a time where we’re all inundated with the infinite technology at our fingertips, we strive to be a welcoming place to find joy and build relationships with the humans around us.

Our Team

Lynda’s first tap class was at the age of 3 — it consisted of 15 minutes of ballet and 15 minutes of tap, for 50¢ a class. By age 5, she was in a “combo” class that consisted of one hour of acrobats, ballet, tap, and baton twirling. Each week, she returned wearing the same black leotard, adding her personal touch of a small silk scarf — tied neatly in a knot on the left side of her neck.

She was 10 when she started assisting the owner and instructor of the studio in Wausau, Wisconsin. At fifteen, she stepped into a full-time position at her studio, teaching 300 students and 25 classes a week while attending high school. Her courses included ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and baton twirling.

From 1969 to 1973, Lynda was a student at University of Wisconsin-Madison, and she obtained a degree in Radiographic Technology from the University of Wisconsin Hospital. She then married in 1973, and moved to sunny southern California. During this time, she continued to tap at a studio in Orange County.

Lynda returned to the Northwoods of Wisconsin in 1985, and established Lynda Kronzer Dance Studio in 1987. After a few years in the studio, she realized tap was her ultimate passion; the studio is now teaching the second generation of tap dancers. Lynda is incredibly grateful for the support and love of tap the Northwoods community has given her.

Erin was born and raised in Minocqua, Wisconsin. She fell in love with tap dancing at the age of 3, when she began dancing at the Lynda Kronzer Dance Studio.

She continued tapping there for 15 years before graduating from LUHS in 2010, after which she attended The Art Institute International Minnesota in Minneapolis where she received her associates of applied science degree in baking and pastry. She worked as a pastry chef around the Twin Cities and continued taking tap classes at Sweet Feet Dance in Minneapolis before shuffling back home to Minocqua to join the Lynda Kronzer Dance Studio as an instructor. She is passionate about tap, but even more so about being a mentor to those she teaches. She believes in finding your own beat, both in the studio and outside of it, and that the connections and friendships formed while doing something you love lead to strong support systems and confident, self-assured individuals.
